This 16-day itinerary is designed for those who want the perfect balance of exploration, relaxation, and unforgettable experiences. Start in Cape Town, where world-class dining is set against mountain views. Drive along the Garden Route, stopping in Franschhoek and Plettenberg Bay, before heading to the Eastern Cape for an exhilarating safari in search of the Big Five. Conclude your escape on the beaches of Mauritius to unwind in paradise.

Days 1–4: Cape Town

Your adventure begins in South Africa’s ‘Mother City’. Stroll along the V&A Waterfront, where you can explore and take in the lively atmosphere by the harbour. Take a ride up the Table Mountain cable car for sweeping views of the city, coast, and beyond.
For history enthusiasts, a visit to Robben Island offers a look at Nelson Mandela’s life, while the District Six Museum provides poignant insight into South Africa’s wider past. When it’s time to unwind, Camps Bay Beach’s pale sands are waiting.

Days 4-9: The Garden Route

From Cape Town, head to Franschhoek in the Cape Winelands. Hop on the Franschhoek Wine Tram and sip your way through some of the best wine estates in the region. Nature lovers can hike the trails at Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve for endless views of the horizon. On your way along the Garden Route, stop in Swellendam, one of South Africa’s oldest towns. Enjoy a picnic in Bontebok National Park, explore Marloth Nature Reserve, or visit the historic Drostdy Museum.

Continuing along the Garden Route, arrive in Plettenberg Bay, known as ‘Plett’ by locals. Swim in warm waters, take scenic walks along the beach, or hike the dramatic trails of Robberg Nature Reserve, keeping an eye out for seals and seabirds. For a unique experience, book a whale-watching tour, where you can witness humpback whales, killer whales, bottlenose dolphins, and more glide through the waves.

Days 9-12: Eastern Cape Game Reserves

Next, head to the Eastern Cape for an unforgettable safari adventure. Visit Pumba Private Game Reserve, home to rare white lions, and get the opportunity to spot the Big Five. Game drives at dawn or dusk bring the savanna to life, as you watch elephants roam or spot leopards in the bush. Evenings here are perfect for sipping sundowners in the African sunset.

Days 12-16: Mauritius

Finally, swap the rugged beauty of South Africa for the serene shores of Mauritius. After a busy few days and many early mornings, relax on white beaches, snorkel along vibrant coral reefs, or unwind by the pool with a drink in hand. With luxurious resorts, spa treatments, and fine dining on offer, Mauritius is the ultimate finale.
