The Maldives as a destination is always really popular with clients looking to celebrate honeymoons, special birthdays, anniversaries or simply taking advantage of the amazing properties available and luxury elements including specialty dining.

Not everyone wants to spend 10 days or 2 weeks in the Maldives though. So I’m often asked ‘where should we pair with the Maldives?’

Popular stopover destinations with the Maldives

Some people enjoy a tour of Sri Lanka, or even India before heading to the pristine beaches of the Maldives. Families are enjoying experiencing the different cultures, perhaps some wildlife encounters in these countries before heading over to the beach for somr R&R.

But most clients are currently preferring to have a shorter city break in a Middle Easten city (think Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi). They enjoy the bright light, fast-paced, activity packed experiences in the city before heading to the beach for peace and quiet.

In particular, Qatar offers great stopover packages when paired with their airline flights, so please do let me know if this peaks your interest.

Island hopping Maldives

There is also the option to twin two completely different Maldivian islands to have different experiences of resorts in the Maldives within the same country – the benefit of this is significantly less travel time!!

If you’re thinking about how to make the most of your complicated itinerary then get in touch as I’d love to help you make the most of your holiday to the Maldives.
