A road trip is one of the famous ways to see the US and explore communities beyond the highways – and for good reason!
Check out some of the favourite routes my clients take along the way
This is a 123-mile long road that can be drive in three hours. it passes through two arches in Red Canyon, skirts state parks like Escalante Petrified Forest and Kodachrome Basin, and Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks, Dixie National Forest and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, climbing to a 9,000-foot scenic overlook.

Leapfrogging keys between Key Largo and Key West, the southernmost stretch of US Highway 1 crosses 42 brides including the Seven Mile Bridge. The 113-mile Florida Keys road follows the path of Henry Flagler’s short-lived Over-Sea Railroad from Miami to Key West, built in 1912. Thirty-seven of the original bridges were replaced 70 years later.
Blue ride parkway, NORTH CAROLINA AND VIRGINIA
Enjoy mountain and valley vistas, pastoral scenes and hiking trails as this route twists for over 450 miles along Blue Ridge Mountains crests connecting the Great Smokey mountains National Parka and Virginia’s Shenandoah National Park. Allow four days for the drive to take in mountain communities, scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and seasonal, colourful foliage.
Route 66, ILLINOIS TO CALIFORNIA
November 2026 marks the centenary of Historic Route 66, known as “America’s Mother Road”. It starts in Chicago, crosses eight states and ends on Santa Monica Pier. Relive its heyday and explore its heritage in more than 250 preserved buildings, bridges, and other sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places

Great River Road, MICHIGAN TO LOUISIANA
At 2,000 miles long, the Great River Road follows the mighty Mississippi River from northern Minnesota tot he Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana. The journey traverses 10 states, passing through river towns, cities, key historical and cultural sites. I’d say to allow 10 days.
